Tiffany and Terrance had a lovely February wedding reception at the Penn Center on St Helena Island. Their civil ceremony took place a few days before the full celebration, as a private moment with their children and Tiffany's grandmother who had become very ill and was going to pass away in the days before their wedding was scheduled. It was a bittersweet celebration as Tiffany was still mourning the deep loss, but also so joyful to celebrate their marriage and long life of loving one another. Their reception was full of love and fun with all of their family and friends, and some absolutely gorgeous details.Read More
We started the day with Katie and her bridesmaids getting ready at Salon 705 in Downtown Beaufort and Chase and his groomsmen at the Hilton Garden Inn. Katie and the girls had a lovely brunch while they had hair and makeup done, with mimosas, fruits, and yummy wraps--an excellent idea to make the morning fun but also ensure you eat enough during the day! The guys all had lunch together before heading up to their hotel suite to get dressed before the first look. We headed over to the Beaufort Open Land & Trust for first look and portraits before the ceremony, which is one of my favorite spots to be in downtown.Read More
The I'On Club in Mount Pleasant is such a gorgeous waterfront wedding venue. I was so excited to photograph this September wedding there for Brad and Julia alongside my friend, Collette, from Collette Mruk Photography. Brad and Julia were one of the most fun couples I've ever worked with. Their families were beyond excited to celebrate their marriage. As if they weren't fun enough on their own, their engagement and wedding was even featured on The Ellen Show!! I mean, come on. I'm a MASSIVE Ellen fan so when I heard this, I almost died of excitement. I secretly hoped Ellen would show up as a wedding guest, but even though she wasn't present, it was still one of the most fun receptions I've ever shot.
We started the day getting ready at Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms with Brad and his groomsmen. They chose to all stay in a vacation house on the resort the days leading up to the wedding which made for a really enjoyable and relaxed day leading up to the wedding. Collette hung out with the girls in their rental while I spent the morning with the guys, and we had a great time laughing as they prepared for the big day and taking fun portraits before heading over to I'On Club for the ceremony. Brad was so thrilled to see his bride walking towards him down the aisle. They elected not to do a first look so we had quite a bit of time invested in making sure we kept bride and groom separated to preserve the magic of the first look happening during the ceremony.
After their officiant, Julia's brother, pronounced them husband and wife, and they finally got to kiss and come back down the aisle together, I don't know if I've ever seen two people more excited to have just been married. They celebrated the entire walk out of their ceremony all the way up to the end of their reception! We were able to take some gorgeous portraits on the dock in the marsh of the wedding venue, something I was dying to do as a new coastal resident. I just can't get over how cool it is to have waterfront weddings so often!
Once the reception began it was a nonstop party. Julia's dad danced harder than any father of the bride I've ever witnessed and had the night of his life through the wedding reception! It was clear he was overjoyed to welcome a new son into his family and was so happy his little girl had met a man who loved her so well. I always love spending this time with the newlywed couples, but watching their families get caught up in the joy is so special. It's contagious, and part of why the reception is my favorite part of the wedding day outside of couple's portraits!
This styled shoot exceeded my dreams, and has been published on Destination Wedding Details and Southern Celebrations Magazine, as well as now-defunct Borrowed and Blue. I'm so thankful for the fantastic vendors who helped bring this dream to life with me! I couldn't have made it half as gorgeous without them.Read More
Gray and Elaine had such a beautiful day and I spent the whole time marveling at how every last detail was thought out. The reception was held at the beautiful Florence Country Club, where Grey and Elaine both got ready with their bridal parties and had their portraits and first look. The ceremony was at Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church, and I was amazed at the intricacy of every element of the ceremony. I hadn't experienced a Greek orthodox wedding before but I was blown away by the beauty of every tradition.Read More
